PROSPECTUS
Welcome to the Little Big Art Show, a unique exhibition of BVA artists’ works celebrating the intricate beauty of small-scale artwork. On Saturday October 11th, Main Street will be closed for Rod Run and we expect that event to bring throngs of people to see our show. We have been fortunate to get permission to set up the show in the corridor of the Richter building. Here’s what you need to know as you get ready to create the works you’ll be displaying in the show:

What type of art will be in the show?
This show will be devoted exclusively to small pieces that can hang on display panels in the corridor of the Richter. Those pieces must be 8” X 8” outside dimensions (with minor exceptions for framed works), but there are no restrictions on the style or content of the art, but please keep it family friendly. We realize that you may not have any pieces this small in your repertoire, so the show gives you the opportunity to expand your skills!
Event Information
Date: October 11, 2025
Times: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Richter Building, 153 South Main St. Boerne
Eligibility
Participation in the Little Big Art show is exclusively open to members of Boerne Visual Artists.
Entry Guidelines
Deadline: The deadline for applying for entry into the show was September 1st. Entry is now closed.
Artwork Dimensions: All pieces entered must have external dimensions of 8” X 8” except framed pieces may be up to 9” X 9” to allow for ½ inch frame that hold 8” X 8” works.
Number of Submissions: Artists may submit a minimum of three pieces and no more than five pieces to hang in the show. If your pieces are sold during the show, you may replace them with additional pieces if you wish, but you will be responsible for determining whether your pieces have been sold. And you must bring replacements and hang them yourself.
Pricing: The maximum allowable price for any piece exhibited is $250.
Space Limitations: Up to 39 artists can be accommodated by the show with a maximum of 5 pieces per artist. That means that we could have 195 great pieces of art available to our public!
Hanging Hardware: Pieces must have wire hangers. No sawtooth hangers will be allowed. Hanging wires should be of the length to allow about 2 inches from the top of the wire to the hanging hook on the display panels.
Fees
Artists will be asked to make a donation in the form of a non-refundable entry fee of $20 at the time of application.
Sales and Payments
Collection of funds: BVA will collect, control and distribute all funds raised through the sale of artwork during the one-day show. If a piece is sold, the artist will receive 96% of the predetermined sale price. The remaining 4% will be retained by Boerne Visual Artists as a donation from the artist.
Tax-free: Because the state of Texas allows for two sales tax-free, one-day fundraising events per year for eligible nonprofit organizations, this will be a sales tax-free event.
Sale Disbursement: Artist proceeds will be issued via check from BVA and mailed to the address provided no later than one (1) week after the date of the art show.
Important Notes
Labeling Work: In order for us to print display tags, you’ll be asked to send the information about each piece you’ll make available for sale in the show, to include (1) your name, (2) the title of the piece, (3) the retail price for each piece, and (4) the medium used to create the piece (e.g. “Photograph”, “Oil Painting”, “Mixed Media” etc.) A form requesting that information will be sent and you must return the completed form by September 26th.
Display: There will be 13 panels on which we’ll display the pieces in the show. Each panel will accommodate 3 artists, with their pieces arranged in three columns of 3 to 5 pieces.
Set Up: We will be asking for participating artists to volunteer to assist with setting up the show, to staff the show, and help with breaking down the show.
Bringing Work: We will install the display panels on Friday night and begin accepting artists’ pieces for hanging at 8:00 AM on Saturday October 11th. To avoid congestion while pieces are being hung, we’ll set times for groups of artists to bring their works in. Those times will be announced via email later.
Packaging: BVA will provide bubble wrap and bags for packing sold pieces.
Collecting Unsold Work: Participating artists must remove unsold pieces by 5:30 PM on the day of the show.
